Egnyte iOS App for Intune V 9.3 - Support for Microsoft Office Co-Editing and Egnyte Copilot Chat

External Release Notes: iOS App for Intune v 9.3 (February 9, 2026)

New Features and Enhancements

The Egnyte for Intune app has been updated to match the latest version of the Egnyte iOS app (9.3), giving users access to the following features:

Co-Editing for Microsoft Office Files

This release enables co-editing for Microsoft Office files in the Egnyte for Intune iOS app. When the feature is enabled, users can open Office files from Egnyte and start or join a co-editing session in the relevant Microsoft app (such as Word for documents, Excel for spreadsheets, PowerPoint for presentations, or Microsoft 365 Copilot for all Office file types).

To use co-editing, users must be signed in to the corresponding Microsoft app and have a valid Microsoft license.

Egnyte Copilot Chat

Egnyte Copilot is now available in the iOS for Intune mobile experience, bringing AI-powered assistance directly into everyday workflows. Copilot provides a conversational interface grounded in the organization’s data, offering concise answers, helping locate files, and supporting a wide range of workplace tasks through natural dialogue.

An Ask Me Anything button has been introduced on core file and folder interaction screens, enabling quick access to Copilot Chat as needed.

This feature is available for customers having Essential, Elite, and Ultimate plans OR Platform Enterprise or Enterprise Lite plans with the Copilot add-onTo request this feature, contact the Products team.

Improved Offline Mode Auto-Update

A new auto-update option has been introduced for files and folders marked for offline access. When enabled and the device is online, updates from the cloud are automatically applied under any of the following conditions:

  • When the application is launched
  • When the app transitions from background to foreground
  • When the folder marked for offline is opened or refreshed from the listing view
  • When the Offline tab is opened

The auto-update setting can be turned on during the process of marking a file or folder for offline access. A prompt is displayed with the option to enable or skip auto-updates and to include or exclude subfolders. It can also be enabled using the More menu (⋯) by selecting the enable or disable auto-update option.

The Offline Mode Auto-update feature will be rolled out gradually. It may take several weeks to become available across all customer domains.

Quick Access Widget on the Homepage

A Quick Access widget was added to the iOS homepage. It provides one-tap access to the following actions:

  • Scan documents
  • Take a photo or video
  • Upload photo or video
  • Upload file
  • Geotagged photos

Issues Addressed

Egnyte Sign Link Handling

In some cases, opening an Egnyte Sign link from an email while the Egnyte app was already running prevented the document from opening correctly, blocking the signing flow. The link only worked after fully closing the app first.

Egnyte Sign links now open correctly in the Egnyte app on iOS, even when the app is already running, allowing documents to be signed without interruption.

Known Issues and Limitations

There are a few distinctions in functionality between the Egnyte for Intune app and its regular counterpart:
