Egnyte Sign on Mobile

Egnyte Sign makes it easy to sign documents that have been sent with a Signature Request. This article provides guidance on signing documents using the Egnyte Mobile App. The screens on the left show the iOS app interface and the ones on the right, the Android one.

Egnyte Sign on Mobile - Requirements 

Egnyte Sign on mobile is available to users who have version 8.31 (or higher) of the Egnyte iOS App and 8.52 (or higher) of the Egnyte Android App. The Signatures tab is available from version 9.11 (or higher).
The most up to date versions of the Egnyte apps are available in the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android).

Signing Documents on Mobile

The signing process can be started in two ways: by tapping Review & sign in a signature request email, or by tapping a pending request directly in the Signatures tab. When starting from the Signatures tab, the app opens the document preview screen directly — steps 2 and 3 below apply from that point. When starting from email, all steps apply.

Starting from the Signatures Tab

The Signatures tab (available from the More menu) gives users a central place to view and act on pending signature requests assigned to them.

  

Tapping any pending request opens the document preview screen directly within the app, at which point the signing flow continues from step 2 below.

  

The tab displays requests assigned to the user and can be filtered by status: All, In Progress, Completed, Declined, and Canceled. Requests created or sent by the user are not shown in this view.

Starting from Email

1. Click on Review & sign button in the signature request e-mail.
     

2. When redirected to the Egnyte mobile app, accept the following agreements to continue:

   • Electronic Record and Signature Disclosure.
   • Egnyte’s Privacy Policy. 

   This step is needed to make the signature legally binding.
    

3. On the document preview screen, find the fields assigned to the designated user by scrolling through the document. Use the arrows to navigate to other fields (for example; signature, name, role). 
    

4. Click each field to enter a value. When multiple signature or initial fields are filled, the app automatically populates subsequent fields with the most recently used entry to reduce repetition. 

   • The signature field allows drawing, typing, and uploading signatures from the Photos gallery. The initials can be drawn or typed. 
       
   • Text-based fields allow typing a value, and signature date fields are automatically populated and cannot be edited. 
   • Checkboxes allow for individual or multi-select option toggling, while radio buttons ensure that only a single option can be selected within a specific group.
       

   The signature and initials input screens are supported in portrait mode only.

5. Once all required fields are filled, click the Submit button in the right upper corner of the screen to complete the signing process.
    
6. Upon signing the document, a confirmation message will be displayed, and the document will be securely saved.
     
7. Once all signers have signed the document, the requester of the signature will receive an email with a link to a signed PDF copy of the document. They can click View signed document button to access a page with a preview of the signed document.
