- Google Workspace License - Users of Egnyte must have a Google Workspace account to change or edit their files.

Starting A Co-Editing Session From Egnyte Mobile App (iOS and Android)
Although the screenshots in this article are from the iOS app, the experience is nearly identical on Android. The layout and functionality of the Co-edit button and menu options work the same way on both platforms.
- If a document is compatible with collaborative co-editing, and Google Workspace Integration is set up and added for the domain by an admin, a Co-edit button will appear in preview (or in the context (three dot) menu with the option to co-edit in the respective google app).
Click Co-edit to open the document and start a collaboration session. After the Co-edit button is clicked users will be redirected to the relevant Google app (Docs, Sheets, or Slides).
- In the Google app, click on the edit (pencil) icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
- Use the keyboard that appears to edit the document.
If the file is being co-edited by other users, their cursors and names will be visible in the document.
- To return to the Egnyte app, click the Egnyte button.
- To exit the Edit mode and remain in the Google app, click the Check Mark icon.
All updates made to the document, sheet, or presentation are automatically synced to the cloud but it may take a few minutes before they can be seen in the preview screen in the Egnyte app. The Egnyte app shows a reminder about it in the preview mode.
Limitations Or Known issues
In iOS apps running versions 8.33 or lower, the entry point for co-editing Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets may appear in the file context menu. However, tapping on it will not open the document for co-editing, as this feature is only supported in versions 8.34 or higher. To resolve this issue, users are recommended to upgrade to the latest version of the iOS app available in AppStore.
