Web UI - Quick Filters and UI Improvements in Trash and Inline Citations in Ask

External Release Notes: Web UI (December 11, 2025)

New Features and Enhancements

Quick Filters and UI Improvements in Trash

Quick filters are now available in Trash for the Admins and Power Users with the capabilities to manage trash to easily filter and search for specific items. The following quick filters are now available in Trash:

  • All - This is the default selection and shows all the items in Trash
  • Deleted by Egnyte - Items automatically deleted due to system actions like version pruning and version policy control
  • Deleted by users - Items deleted by the user themselves

This makes the trash management more efficient and helps users quickly locate, review, and restore items without manually scanning through a large list of items. The filters button is also more intuitive now, making it easier for users to access and apply the desired filters.

A tooltip has now been added to ensure users are clearly informed that sorting options are not available when the Trash contains more than 50,000 items.

Inline Citations in Ask

Inline citations have now been added to the responses in Ask to indicate that the information is derived directly from the document being interacted with. This improves the user's clarity by showing that the response is grounded in the document’s own content.

Row-Level Actions in Desktop Configurations’ Settings

Desktop configurations settings now display row-level actions when a user hovers over any configuration. Users can quickly edit, activate, or delete a configuration using these actions, making the interface more intuitive and easier to navigate.

Consistent Language for In-App Pages in Desktop App (Limited Availability)

Previously, in-app pages always used the language selected in the Web UI. As a result, if a different language was chosen there, those pages would not match the language set in the Desktop App. A new setting ensures that in-app pages always match the language of the Desktop App.

- This feature is available to all customers with Language pack (beta) enabled. To request this feature contact the Products team.
- Language pack is not supported on Desktop App Core.

Issues Addressed

Improved Access for Power Users Managing Hybrid Storage Devices

Fixed an issue where authorized Power Users managing storage devices were incorrectly blocked from accessing Smart Cache and Personal device dashboards. These users can now view and manage hybrid devices as expected.

A few users reported an issue wherein the Print option did not work for them when attempting to print a PDF from preview. The issue occurred in Chrome, Edge, and Brave browsers; but, did not appear in Firefox.
