External Release Notes: Web UI (August 19, 2026)
New Features and Enhancements
UI Update - Row-Level Actions in Search Results
Egnyte now displays the row-level actions menu when a user hovers over the three-dots icon for a specific file or folder in the search results. Common actions such as share, edit, download, and move or copy are available along with the context menu directly from that row, reducing the need to open the item first. This makes the search results consistent with the file and folder listing.
This improves navigation efficiency, enables faster access to frequently used actions, and helps users manage content with fewer clicks.
Persona-Based Onboarding for Existing Domains
Egnyte is introducing Persona-Based Onboarding for existing accounts designed to help users realize the value of Egnyte by guiding them through core and advanced capabilities tailored to their role. The feature offers the following key capabilities:
- Role-based onboarding journeys for Admins and Power Users
- Structured onboarding via progressive levels and tasks
- On-demand, guided experience to accelerate product adoption
- User can click on the Get Started button to reveal the onboarding tasks at any time, and may close the list using the X button
- Completed tasks are tracked on the task list, and an award badge is displayed upon completion of each level
- Onboarding task list will never appear unless invoked by the user
The feature is available for existing direct Paid domains on Elite, Enterprise & Enterprise Lite plans only.
It will be released for other plans by the first week of September.
Bulk Extraction Audit Reports (Limited Availability)
Egnyte now provides the ability to create, view, and manage Extraction Reports. These audit reports provide an audit of extraction jobs for the domain including the details, such as extraction action, name, section, location, and detailed information associated with the action.
This enables the admins to keep a track of bulk extraction jobs created, edited, activated, deactivated, and deleted enabling them to easily monitor the jobs and review the outcomes.
Bulk Extraction is currently available under Limited Availability for customers on the Ultimate plan. To request this feature, contact the Products team.
Improvements in Bulk Extraction (Limited Availability)
Egnyte has introduced usability improvements to Bulk Extraction, making it easier for users to monitor extraction jobs, manage job lifecycle, and review processing results.
- Improved job status visibility: Updated status icons provide a clearer view of processed, skipped, errored, and pending documents, making it easier to assess job progress at a glance
- Reactivate jobs: Previously deactivated jobs can now be reactivated instead of creating a new job, simplifying ongoing extraction management
-
Timestamps in Date Columns: Timestamps have been added in Last Used and Activated on columns to easily distinguish the jobs with similar names and created on the same date.
- Manage jobs directly from the details page: Active extraction jobs can now be deactivated directly from the job details page, reducing the need to navigate back to the jobs list
-
View Tags on Job Details: Users can quickly view the tags extracted for a file by clicking on the Tags’ count on the job details page instead of navigating to the file preview to view the details
-
Delete draft jobs: Jobs in the Draft state can now be deleted, making it easier to remove unused or incomplete configurations
-
More informative processing messages: Enhanced messages for skipped and errored files provide additional context, helping users understand processing outcomes and take appropriate action more efficiently
Bulk Extraction is currently available under Limited Availability for customers on the Ultimate plan. To request this feature, contact the Products team.
Issues Addressed
Browse by Tags - Issue with Filtering via Custom Tags
Browsing by tags did not recognize custom tags thereby affecting filtering of content by these tags. However, filtering via custom columns in the files and folder listing was working correctly.
