Web UI - Multi-Value Properties for Custom Metadata Tags and Upload Request Document Modifications from Template

External Release Notes: Web UI (August 14, 2025)

New Features And Enhancements

Multi-Value Properties for Custom Metadata Tags

Egnyte now supports multi-value properties for custom metadata tags. The following properties can now be added:

  • Labels: These are the short tags that can be used for tagging and categorization.
  • Dropdown with multi-select: In addition to the existing Dropdown with single-select, there is now an option to add a Dropdown with multi-select. It can have a list of predefined options where multiple values can be selected.

These multi-value properties help users categorize files more effectively, improving organization and enabling faster search results.

Upload Request Document Modifications from Template

Upload request creators can now remove specific documents from an instance or change document requirements from Mandatory to Optional, or vice versa. This added flexibility allows teams to tailor each upload request without altering the original template structure. A new template-level setting controls whether such modifications are allowed, ensuring that organizations can enforce consistency or enable customization as needed.

Option to Share Job Details for New Users

When new users (Admins, Power Users, and Standard Users) log into Egnyte for the first time, they can add their Job Title and Job Role in their profile.

If the Job Title is provided via ADKit or SCIM when the Admin creates the users on the domain, it will be pre-filled. However, the Job Role will always be controlled by the User.

This will provide customized experiences for each user, aligned with their unique business challenges, which may evolve over the lifetime of the user.

The ability to change the Job Title is enabled by default. Admins have the option to disable this for both Power Users and Standard Users.

Unified Experience of Moving and Copying Files or Folders (Limited Availability)

As part of the ongoing improvements in the context menu redesign, users can now access unified Move and Copy options in one place. This update allows users to easily choose the desired move or copy permissions for any selected file or folder from a single option.

This makes file or folder actions faster, clearer, and more intuitive for everyday workflows.

By default, the folder options as per destination folder apply; however, users can choose to keep the source folder options if required.
