External Release Notes: Web UI and AI Assistant (July 15, 2026)
New Features and Enhancements
Simplified Agent Creation and Configuration
Users can now easily turn their ideas into working agents with Egnyte’s simplified agent creation and configuration experience. By describing an idea in natural language, users can quickly get started as the agent builder automatically populates the relevant configuration details based on the description, reducing manual effort and speeding up agent creation.
Additionally, users can also import agent skill files from other AI tools while creating an agent, making it easier to continue building and refining agents in Egnyte.
Improved AI Interactions with Enhanced UI
Users can now discover and use AI features in Egnyte through a refreshed UI designed for a more familiar and intuitive experience. Users can now interact with AI more efficiently by easily setting the scope, selecting the preferred AI model, and inserting prompts from a simplified interface. They can also start a new chat, access chat history and settings, and share conversations using the available options, making common AI interactions quicker and easier to navigate.
The Agents experience has also been updated with a cleaner creation and browsing interface, making it easier to find, create, and interact with agents while maintaining a consistent experience across AI features in Egnyte.
Easily Create New Documents with AI Assistant
Egnyte now offers the ability to create fully formatted documents from scratch using AI Assistant. Users can simply describe the content they need, and AI Assistant generates a fully-formatted document without requiring templates or manual formatting, making it easier to create ready-to-use content in less time.
Users can also convert the generated document into another supported format, such as transforming a PowerPoint presentation to a Word document, enabling them to quickly repurpose the same content for different audiences and use cases.
AI Assistant currently supports the following formats for document creation:
- Word documents (.docx)
- PowerPoint presentations (.pptx)
- PDFs
- Excel spreadsheets
- HTML pages
- Markdown files
Clarifying Questions in AI Assistant and Agents
AI Assistant and Agents now ask clarifying questions when a user's prompt is unclear or too broad before generating a response. By gathering the required context upfront, they can provide more relevant and accurate responses while reducing the need for repeated prompting. Users can answer the clarifying questions or choose to skip them and continue with their original request.
Tag Agent and Connectors in AI Assistant Prompts
In addition to files, users can now tag an agent and connectors directly within AI Assistant prompts. By typing @, users can select the required agent, connector, or file from the available options, making it easier to provide the right context for their request. This helps AI Assistant use the appropriate resources during the conversation, reducing the need to describe or locate them separately and enabling more relevant responses.
