External Release Notes: Web UI (June 24, 2026)
New Features and Enhancements
Redesigned Top Bar for File’s Quick View and Full View
Egnyte has redesigned the top bar in both the Full View and Quick View file experiences to provide a more streamlined and intuitive interface. File actions are now grouped below the file name. File navigation controls and dark/light mode toggles have also been repositioned to the top-right corner for easier access. Additionally, users can rename files and access the context menu directly from Full View without leaving the viewer.
The updated layout improves discoverability of commonly used actions, reduces context switching, and enhances overall usability while working with files in Egnyte.
Multi-Document Tagging - Efficient Metadata Tagging for Multiple Files
Egnyte now provides the ability to tag multiple files at once from file & folder listing and Browse by Tags view. The Tag option is available in the context menu, allowing users to add, replace, or clear metadata tags across multiple files in a single action.
This helps maintain consistent metadata across selected files and reduces the manual effort required for large-scale metadata updates.
The feature is available for customers on Business, Enterprise Lite, Enterprise, Essentials, Elite and Ultimate plans. To request access, contact the Egnyte Products team.
Bulk Extraction - Automatically Extract and Apply Tags Across Files (Limited Availability)
Egnyte has introduced Bulk Extraction, enabling organizations to automatically extract and apply tags across large volumes of files within selected folders. Bulk Extraction processes existing as well as newly uploaded files, transforming unstructured files into structured, searchable data while reducing the need for manual tagging.
The feature helps organizations maintain accurate metadata at scale, improve operational efficiency, and make business-critical information easier to discover and use.
Bulk Extraction is currently available under Limited Availability for customers on the Ultimate plan. Please contact the Products team to request for this feature.
Enhanced SFTP Security: Authenticator App MFA for SFTP Access (Limited Availability)
Egnyte is introducing the ability to require Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for SFTP connections at the domain level. When enabled, users must authenticate with an authenticator app in addition to their password to connect via SFTP. This ensures that SFTP access is protected by a second factor. All SFTP users on the domain who have not enrolled an authenticator app will be blocked from connecting. This includes SSO users. Once enabled, see the detail guide for more information on setting up MFA on SFTP.
- This feature is currently in Limited Availability for all customers on Platform Plans. To request enablement for the domain, please contact the Products team.
- Before requesting enablement from the Products team, ensure all users who need SFTP access have successfully enrolled an authenticator app on their Egnyte account.
