New Features and Enhancements
Enhanced Default Folder Options Settings for Copy and Move Actions
Egnyte has now updated the default folder options settings for copy and move actions by separating them into two independent configurations. Admins can now define default behaviors for each action, along with dedicated checkboxes that allow users to override these defaults as needed.
This update provides greater flexibility and control, enabling teams to align folder options with their specific security and governance requirements. By allowing different settings for copy and move actions, admins can apply more precise controls and maintain consistency with organizational policies while still having the option to adjust settings when necessary.
Mandatory Metadata Descriptions for Custom Namespaces
Metadata description is now a required field when creating custom namespaces or metadata sections. This ensures every metadata field has clear context, resulting in more accurate search, and improved data extraction and classification, making content easier to organize and discover.
Quick View Available in Recent Files
Quick View is now available in the Recent Files page. Users can click the file type icon on any file in their recent activity list to instantly open a preview panel without navigating away from the page. The Quick View panel displays the file preview, metadata, and quick access to Download and Share actions, consistent with the existing Quick View experience in file listings and search results.
This update lets users quickly review recent files without leaving the page, making it easier for them to navigate through files and take necessary actions.
Quick View is available for customers on Business, Enterprise Lite, Enterprise, Starter, Essentials, Elite and Ultimate plans. Contact the Egnyte account manager or Egnyte Sales team for more information.
