Egnyte is available as a connector in Claude enabling the users to seamlessly access the Egnyte content directly within their Claude conversations.
Egnyte connector provides Claude with secure access to the organization’s content stored in Egnyte, enabling advanced document search, AI-powered analysis, and intelligent content management. Through the Egnyte Remote MCP Server, Claude can search for files, retrieve document content, ask questions about specific documents, generate summaries, and interact with Egnyte AI capabilities like Copilot and Knowledge Bases.
This feature is currently in limited availability for Essential, Elite, and Ultimate plans OR Platform Enterprise or Enterprise Lite plans with the Copilot add-on. To request this feature, contact the Products team.
Setting Up the Egnyte Connector
Technical details of the Egnyte connector can be found in Egnyte’s MCP Server Documentation. Authentication is handled via OAuth 2.0, providing secure access to the Egnyte content.
Prerequisites
- An active Egnyte account on Essential, Elite, or Ultimate plans OR Platform Enterprise or Enterprise Lite plans with the Co-Pilot add-on.
- Claude paid plans (Pro, Team, Enterprise)
- Egnyte domain name and credentials for authentication
- Once the feature is enabled for a domain, all domain users can connect to and authenticate in Claude. No admin controls are available to restrict access for specific users.
- The applicable API request limits are 180 requests per minute per user and 250 requests per day per user.
Adding the Connector as an Claude Admin or Owner
Users can browse and add the connector directory from two different areas.
From a Chat
- Click on the + icon on the lower left of the chat interface.
- From the menu, select Add connectors.
- Search for Egnyte and click on Egnyte in the search results.
- Click on Add to your team and the connector will be added.
From Settings
- Navigate to Settings -> Connectors.
- Click on Browse connectors.
- Search for Egnyte and click on Egnyte from the search results.
- Click on Add to your team and the connector will be added.
