External Release Notes: Desktop App for Windows V 3.29.2 (November 17, 2025)
New Features & Improvements
Enhanced Download Stability and Performance
We have improved how the Desktop App downloads files to reduce memory usage and prevent application crashes. The app will be more optimized for handling downloads.
Optimized Resource Management on High-Core CPUs
The app's thread management has been optimized to use system resources more efficiently, particularly on high-end computers with a large number of processor cores. This update reduces the number of threads created, leading to a more responsive user experience.
Issues Addressed
File Versions Lost When Saving in AutoCAD 2026
An issue was identified where file version history was lost when saving a drawing in AutoCAD 2026 or Civil3D 2026. In older versions of these applications, saving a file involved moving the original .dwg file to a temporary file, which was then renamed to a .bak file.
We have updated our application handling to correctly recognize this new save process and ensure that file versions are always preserved.
Empty Microsoft Office Files Incorrectly Synced
In some situations, an empty 0-byte file was uploaded and treated as the latest version when saving a Microsoft Office document. This happened because the Office application would create a temporary empty file with a newer modification time than the final document during the save process. We have implemented a fix to ensure the final, correct version of the file is always uploaded.
Incorrect Formatting for Passwords in Shared Links
When users copied a share link with a password, the password was displayed directly after the "Password:" label without a space. This made it difficult for recipients to copy the password, especially on mobile devices. The copied link now includes a space for improved clarity.
Files Failing to Open from Web UI on First Attempt
Selecting Open with Desktop App from the Web UI would fail on the first click but succeed on the second. Files now open correctly on the first attempt.
Offline Folders Not Applied Correctly in Mass Deployments
A bug occurred during mass deployments where offline folders would incorrectly fail to apply if the configured offline folder path was exactly equal to the drive's Cloud Start Path (CSP).
Corrected Egnyte Entries in Device's Hosts File
Multiple, improperly formatted entries for Egnyte services were being added to the hosts file on users' computers. The solution was provided to prevent duplicate or malformed entries.
