External Release Notes: Web UI (September 04, 2025)
New Features and Enhancements
Autodesk Construction Cloud Integration
Egnyte is introducing native Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) Integration that enables a one-way sync from Autodesk Docs into Egnyte. Along with files and folders, it can also sync project metadata from ACC, so details like project status, deadlines, and other key updates remain updated across both platforms.
This integration helps teams centralize project information, reduce manual updates, and ensure key stakeholders always have access to the latest data.
This integration is available on all plans with the Project Hub except for Platform Business or AFS plans. Contact your account manager or Egnyte Sales team for more information.
Explore Plans and Start Trial of Higher-Tier Plans
Egnyte now makes it easier for customers to explore and begin trials of higher-tier plans. The Explore Plans page provides the ability to view available plans, compare features, and start a trial on a domain before committing.
This enables the customers to try premium features, evaluate their fit, and upgrade when ready, without waiting for any additional approvals.
The feature is not available for any of the GxP plans.
Self-Service for Custom Access URLs
Egnyte offers the self-service Custom Access URLs (CAU) feature in the WebUI, available under Settings -> Branding.
With this update, admins can manage the entire process end-to-end from a single place. They can set up and edit the access URL, upload or renew SSL certificates, and configure the domain. This ensures faster updates, reduces the risk of downtime, and gives organizations complete control over their custom domain setup.
The feature was previously made available to a limited number of customers and is now being made generally available.
SSL Certifications Expiry Notifications
For Custom Access URLs feature, Egnyte now sends email notifications and displays in-app notifications to make sure that the admins are timely informed about the certificates that are nearing the expiration date or have already expired.
These notifications provide admins enough time to review and renew the certificates, helping maintain continuous security and seamless user experience.
Increased Supported File Limits for Ask
The file size limit for Ask has been increased from 20 MB to 64 MB across these file categories: Document, Spreadsheet, Presentation, Plain Text, GDrive, PDF (text extraction), Image OCR, and OCR Requeue (ocr).
Admin Managed Folder Options
A domain-level setting has been introduced to manage folder options. The setting enables Admins only or Admins and Folder Owners (default) to be able to manage folder options at any specific folder level.
This setting strengthens access control, supports compliance requirements, and enhances security by defining who can manage folder options at the folder level.
Multi-Value Properties for Custom Metadata Tags (API Support)
API support has been added to delete multi-value custom metadata.
Power User Role Entitlements - Owner to At Least Full Permissions
Power Users can now see issues and sensitive contents for the folders where they have at least Full Permissions. Previously, this feature was made available to a limited number of customers and it has now been made generally available.
The change is reflected on the Collaborate -> Settings as well for Secure & Govern -> Power User role.
This feature is available to all customers having Unified User Directory Management for Collaborate and Secure & Govern with only one active Egnyte Content Source.
Power User Role Entitlements for New Egnyte Customers
Allow any power user in linked Egnyte domains to get access to Secure & Govern in Settings -> User Management will be default-toggled to ON for all new Egnyte customers. Previously, the toggle was switched to OFF.
With this, Power Users in new Egnyte domains will automatically have access to Secure & Govern, allowing them to manage data security, compliance, and governance without any additional configuration.
Issues Addressed
Issue in Uploading Files in Document Portal
There was an issue preventing the customer from uploading files larger than 150 MB under a workflow template in the Document Portal. This error was encountered without any applicable template-specific file size limit.
Desktop App - WebUI Accessible Despite Mapped Drive Restrictions
Some Desktop App users were restricted to access Egnyte only via mapped drives. However, when they selected the View Online option for a folder, it opened the folder in the Web UI.
