External Release Notes: iOS Mobile App v 8.40 (July 24, 2025)
New Features And Enhancements
Support for Preview Analytics Engagement Data
The Egnyte iOS Mobile App now supports sending engagement data to the Preview Analytics feature. This update allows content engagement statistics to include interactions from mobile app users, providing a more comprehensive view of how content is consumed.
Statistics are available exclusively via the WebUI and can be accessed by the users who have Editor permissions or higher for the folder where the file is located.
Egnyte Sign Enhancements: Streamlined Initials and Signature Workflow
Improved the Egnyte Sign experience on iOS by enabling users to reuse saved initials, just like full signatures. When filling out multiple fields, the app now auto-fills subsequent signature and initial fields with the last used version, reducing repetition. Users can also easily access the saved or create view again if a field is cleared.
Offline Folder Auto-update Enhancements : Auto-Update Triggers
Expanded the conditions that trigger Offline Folder Auto-update. In addition to launching the app, visiting the folder, or opening the Offline tab, updates will now also be triggered upon logging in and when switching to the account as the foremost user.
Issues Addressed
Unexpected Logout on Second Mobile Device
Users were occasionally deauthorized on one mobile device after logging in on another, due to both devices sharing the same device ID (e.g., after restoring from backup).
Unable to Open Shortcut Links on iOS
Shortcut link files created from the Windows Desktop App would not open in the iOS app. The Open in Browser option now correctly redirects to the intended webpage.
Auto-Update not Triggered After File is Moved
Offline files that were moved to a different folder did not auto-update unless the target folder was visited. The app now correctly updates the file in the background without requiring navigation to the new location.
Offline Folder Path not Updated After Move
Moving an offline folder caused it to retain the old path, preventing updates. The folder now reflects the correct path and continues to auto-update as expected.
