External Release Notes: Egnyte iOS Mobile App for Intune v 8.38 (July 02, 2025)
New Features and Enhancements
The Egnyte for Intune app has been updated to match the latest version of the Egnyte iOS app (8.38), giving users access to the following features:
Updated Intune SDK
The Egnyte mobile app has been updated to the latest Microsoft Intune App SDK (version 20.6.0), enhancing security and ensuring app protection policies are consistently applied.
Document Scanner - Optical Character Recognition
A new Extract Text feature is now available, allowing users to accurately extract text from scanned documents. The text can be saved as a file in Egnyte or processed further - copied, shared, translated, or used to interact with detected phone numbers and emails.
Egnyte Copilot Enhancements
Copilot now suggests relevant questions when opening a Knowledge Base, helping users get started quickly. A new History feature also allows users to revisit past Copilot conversations for easy reference.
Egnyte Sign – Multiple Document Requests
When a signature request includes multiple documents, users are now redirected to the mobile browser to complete the signing process seamlessly.

Preview Enhancements

.WAV File Preview Support
Users can now preview .wav files directly in the app. Previously, these files showed a Preview not available message. -
Fix for File Preview from Share Links
Files opened via share links now display correctly in the app. This resolves an issue where users saw an error or Format not supported message. -
PDF Preview Stability When Using Share Sheet
Opening the Apple Share Sheet no longer disrupts the PDF preview. The file now remains visible and stable while sharing options are accessed. -
Offline PDFs Remain Accessible when Shared or Imported
Offline PDFs can now be shared or imported without triggering a corruption error. Files continue to display correctly throughout the workflow.
Signing Improvements

Consistent Signature Display
Signature names and Egnyte Sign IDs now appear correctly across all documents. Issues with missing or misaligned details have been resolved. -
Signing Now Supported on Multi-Field Documents
ocuments with multiple input fields now load properly and can be signed without errors. Previously, these documents failed to support signing.
Bug Fixes

Correct Version Shared via 'Open In'
Sharing Word documents using the native Open In option now loads the latest version. Previously, a cached version was opened in apps like Pages. -
Bottom Menu Customization Now Persists
Changes to the bottom menu bar layout are now saved across sessions. Previously, the custom order was reset after closing the app. -
Enhanced Ask AI Interactions
Improvements to stability and responsiveness make Ask AI smoother to use. Usability issues with suggestions, and document integration have been addressed. -
Link Sharing Improvements
Link Sharing has been improved with better stability and error handling. Various fixes provide a more reliable and seamless sharing experience.
Known Issues and Limitations
There are a few distinctions in functionality between the Egnyte for Intune app and its regular counterpart:
Disabled Features:
- Co-Editing of Microsoft Office documents
- File Provider extension, which integrates with the iOS Files app
Conditional Features:
- Image Markups: Disabled by default but can be enabled if the Send organizational data to other apps setting is configured as All apps in the Intune app protection policy.
