Release Date: July 24th, 2024 | Desktop App for Win v 3.18.0
New features and enhancements
New Share Link Options
We have drastically improved the Desktop App Share link experience to be on par with WebUI functionality. Starting now, users will be able to utilize all sharing options without having to go to a web browser.
Draft folder warnings
This is to support Creation of documents in draft mode in WebUI. A warning notification is displayed when a user performs a move, rename, or delete operation on the system generated Drafts folder. The Publish option is provided for files and folders specifically under Drafts in WebUI. Users are advised against renaming, moving, or deleting the Drafts folder as these actions will lead to the loss of this functionality in WebUI.
Co-editing session in Private directories
Microsoft Office documents can now be opened in co-edit mode in the Private directory. It can be used for better collaboration via Co-editable Share Links as well as to enable the Microsoft Office Autosave feature.
Recovery of unsynced files on upgrade error
If an unrecoverable error occurs during the upgrade of Desktop App, any unsynced files that were still stored in the cache will be moved to the “Egnyte Cancelled Uploads” folder on the user's desktop.
Issues Addressed
Desktop App Crash
Moving or copying files from Egnyte drive to the local drive was causing a crash when the drive was added using a different Windows account.
Support for AutoSPRINK temporary files
Support for .lck file extension is added to improve the performance while processing Xref files.
