How to Enable Smart Upload in the iOS Egnyte App

What is Smart Upload?

Smart Upload is a feature available in the Egnyte Mobile Apps that automatically scans the device photo library and finds photographs taken in places matching the ones specified in Projects and, with the user’s permission, uploads the photographs to Egnyte. It saves the users all the manual work they would otherwise need to do copying the pictures from the device photo library into their Egnyte folders.

How to Enable and Start Using Automatic Smart Upload?

1.  Create and Set Up Projects

To use Smart Upload, first create a Project using the Web UI or the mobile app or navigate to an existing Project. Projects are a special kind of folders for which admins can define parameters such as project start and end date, logo, ID, customer name, current status, as well as its address and geolocation.

2.  Add Geolocation for the Project

  • Navigate to the Project
  • Go to Project Settings
    • In the WebUI, Project Settings are available from the More button
