New Features and Improvements
Signatures Dashboard
A new Signatures tab has been added to the Egnyte Android app, giving users a dedicated space to track and act on all Egnyte Sign requests assigned to them. Users can tap any pending request to open and complete the signing experience natively within the app, with a confirmation displayed upon completion.
The Homepage Tasks widget has also been updated to surface pending signature requests alongside workflow tasks, ensuring nothing is missed at a glance.
AI Image Labeling
A new on-device AI Image Labeling capability is available, designed for users who upload photos via the Egnyte mobile app — particularly in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) workflows. When enabled, users are prompted to download the on-device LLM to their device. Once downloaded, the app processes images using the model, generating short descriptions that feed into metadata namespace for enhanced search indexing. This capability is available to customers on the following pricing plans: AEC Essentials, AEC Elite, AEC Ultimate.
Markdown File Preview
Users can now open .md files directly in the Egnyte Android app and view fully rendered content instead of raw Markdown source. The preview supports Markdown, including headings, bold and italic text, lists, task lists, tables, code blocks, blockquotes, and inline links. The view is read-only and uses the same previewer as all other file types, with standard error states handled for files that are too large, empty, or contain unsupported constructs.
HTML File Preview
Users can now preview rendered HTML files (up to 10MB) directly within the Egnyte Android App. When a user taps an HTML file, the app displays it visually, including styling where applicable — making it straightforward to view AI-generated dashboards and mini apps stored in Egnyte without downloading or leaving the app.
Issues Addressed
Scanned Documents Stuck in Waiting State
Some users experienced scanned documents and other uploaded files remaining in a Waiting state for an extended period before syncing and becoming available. Improvements have been made to the upload and sync process to ensure files are transmitted and visible within the expected timeframe across both Wi-Fi and cellular connections.
