AI Assistant - MCP Server Reports, Tag Folders in Agents and AI Assistant

External Release Notes: AI Assistant (September 9, 2026)

New Features and Enhancements

MCP Server Reports

Admins can now access and analyze MCP Server Reports to monitor MCP session activity across their domain. Reports can be filtered by the Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, or a Custom date range, and exported as CSV files for further analysis. Each report includes the Timestamp (in UTC), User, Id, Client Name, and Tool used, providing greater visibility into MCP activity and helping admins monitor usage and keep track of activity across the domain.

- MCP session activity data will be captured starting from the feature release date. Older data will not be available in the reports.
- MCP Server Reports retain the data for the last 180 days

Tag Folders in Agents and AI Assistant

Egnyte now offers folder tagging using the @ mentions in AI Assistant and Agents. Users can tag a folder directly when composing a prompt, making it easier to reference multiple related files at once and provide broader context for AI-powered responses.

SharePoint, OneDrive And Teams Connectors v 1.1.0

Egnyte admins can now connect SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams as AI Connectors using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Once configured, users can now search and read the corresponding content directly from Egnyte's AI Assistant.

Before configuring any of the Microsoft AI Connectors, ensure the following requirements are met:

  • Microsoft 365 tenant with Entra or Azure AD Global Admin access
  • Egnyte Admin privileges or Power User with the appropriate role
  • SharePoint/OneDrive/Teams connector already visible in the Egnyte connectors library as a pre-loaded connector
