Smart Cache V 5.2.7 - Stability Patch

External Release Notes: Smart Cache v 5.2.7 (September 7, 2026)

Issues Addressed

Improved SMB Performance for Deeply Nested Folders in Smart Cache

File opens over SMB in deep folder structures now complete with significantly less overhead. Bulk operations such as large copies and multi-user access to nested project folders are noticeably faster.

Fixed Unnecessary Conflict Copies When Re-Saving Identical Files

Saving a file whose contents have not changed no longer produces a duplicate conflict copy on Smart Cache connected devices. AutoCAD and Civil3D users will see far fewer stray .bak copies in project folders.

Improved Smart Cache Reliability When a File Upload Is Rejected

Uploads that the cloud declines are now handled cleanly, with the file preserved in Lost and Found rather than interrupting the service. This improves stability for devices handling large volumes of application temporary files.

Aligned Handling of Application Temporary Files in Smart Cache

Temporary files created by applications such as Office and AutoCAD are now recognized consistently across Smart Cache and the Desktop App, so they stay local instead of being sent to the cloud. This reduces unnecessary file clutter for shared project folders.

Smart Cache Cleanup Stalling on Folders with Multiple Sub-Folders

Smart Cache now reliably cleans up deleted folders that contain multiple sub-folders. This ensures cached storage space is freed as expected during routine cleanup.

Improved SMB Upload Reliability During Network Interruptions

Smart Cache now recovers smoothly when a network connection drops mid-upload instead of briefly going offline. Users will see fewer upload interruptions, especially over SMB.

More Reliable SMB Uploads When Another User Locks the File Mid-Transfer

Large file uploads over SMB now complete cleanly even when another user opens or locks the file while it is still uploading. This improves consistency for busy, multi-user workflows.

Improved Stability During Folder-Delete Operations

Enhanced reliability when processing folder deletions, so background sync recovers cleanly in edge cases. This contributes to smoother, more dependable operation.

Additional Information and Resources
