Web UI - Context-Aware Action Pills and Enhanced Homepage

External Release Notes: Web UI (July 29, 2026)

New Features and Enhancements

Enhanced Homepage for Streamlined Navigation

Egnyte has introduced a redesigned homepage that provides a more streamlined and personalised experience.

The updated homepage welcomes users by name and provides quick access to Shared, Personal, and Private folders. The unified search now has a prominent Search or ask a question bar, bringing file search and AI-powered Q&A together in a single location.

Recently accessed files now surface contextually relevant AI actions to help users complete common tasks more efficiently.

Users can quickly switch between Recents, Bookmarks, Links, Projects, and Tasks using the new tabbed navigation, and the cleaner layout with a collapsed sidebar provides more space for content.

For users who have not configured a default landing page, the homepage now serves as the default landing page. The redesigned homepage is also available in the Egnyte Desktop App.

Egnyte Sign - Autoplace Fields with Structured Inline Tags

Egnyte Sign now supports structured inline tags – short text codes embedded directly in a document before it is uploaded to Egnyte. When a signature request is prepared, Egnyte Sign automatically detects these tags and converts them into the correct signature fields at the exact positions where the tags appear — no manual field placement required.

Each tag is self-describing and encodes the field type, recipient, and optional configuration in a single expression. For example,
places a signature field for the first signer,

{{es:s:1}}

places a date field in DD/MM/YYYY format, and

 {{es:d:1|df:ddmmyyyy}}

places a labelled text field for the second signer.

{{es:t:2|lbl:JobTitle}}

This feature is particularly useful for teams that generate documents programmatically — for example, using document generation tools, CRM integrations, or ERP systems — where signature fields need to appear consistently in the right location across every document. It also enables developers to create signature requests through the Egnyte Sign API without building or maintaining a template.

Supported field types: Signature, Initials, Date, Text, Name, Title, Company.

- Structured inline tags are not supported in 21 CFR Part 11 (GxP) signature workflows.
- Egnyte Sign is available as part of the PDF File Handler Add-On. Contact the Egnyte account manager or Egnyte Sales team to get access to this feature.

PDF Editor- Copy/Paste of Annotations from One PDF to Another

Users can now copy annotations from one PDF and paste them into another PDF directly within Egnyte's PDF viewer. Previously, annotations had to be recreated manually on each document. With this update, users can select one or more annotations — including comments, shapes, scales and markups — copy them, open a second PDF, and paste them at the desired location.

The text based annotations like highlighting, strikeout, underline etc. won’t be copy pasted.

This is especially useful for teams that work with recurring document sets, such as contracts, drawings, or review packages, where the same feedback or markup needs to be applied consistently across multiple files.

This feature is available as part of the PDF File Handler Add-On. Contact the Egnyte account manager or Egnyte Sales team to get access to this feature.

Issues Addressed

Issue with Co-editing using MS SharePoint Embedded (SPE) Integration

Co-editing Microsoft 365 documents failed with a 404 error, preventing users from opening files in co-edit mode.

Deactivated User Shown as Active in Profile and Audit Logs

There was an issue where a user's profile showed a "last active" time and continued audit activity (e.g., download-link actions) even after the account had been deactivated.

Audit Report Panel Fails to Load Due to Invalid/Failed Report

There was an issue where the File Reports (Audit) panel would flash and go blank for admins — preventing any report from being created or run — when a saved report contained an invalid folder filter.
