This article describes functionality that will be available in version 9.9 of the Egnyte for Intune iOS app. Version 9.9 is expected to be available in the Apple App Store on August 5, 2026, when the rollout will begin. This article has been published in advance to allow administrators and users to prepare for the upcoming changes.
Starting with version 9.9 of the Egnyte for Intune iOS app, users whose organizations operate on a Microsoft Government Community Cloud High (GCC High) tenant can access Egnyte through the app. This article explains what GCC High tenant support means and how users and administrators can get started.
What is GCC High?
Microsoft's Government Community Cloud High (GCC High) is a dedicated cloud environment designed for US government agencies and organizations that handle controlled unclassified information (CUI), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) data, or Department of Defense (DoD) requirements. GCC High operates on separate Microsoft infrastructure and uses a distinct Microsoft identity platform endpoint compared to the commercial cloud.

Signing in as a GCC High User
From version 9.9, a GCC High user's sign-in experience is as follows:

Welcome Screen
When the app is opened for the first time after installation, the welcome screen presents two options. GCC High users should select GCC High user?. Selecting Continue instead will attempt authentication against the commercial Microsoft tenant and will fail for GCC High accounts. -
Microsoft Authentication
After selecting GCC High user?, the app proceeds to Microsoft authentication using the GCC High tenant configuration. Authentication is handled through the Microsoft Authenticator app (if installed) or through an in-app browser. The user signs in with their GCC High Microsoft account. -
Intune Enrollment and App Restart
After successful Microsoft authentication, the app enrolls with Microsoft Intune using the GCC High tenant configuration. Once enrollment is complete, a notification is displayed prompting a restart. The user taps the button in the notification, which closes the app. The app does not reopen automatically — the user must tap the app icon on the device home screen to reopen it. -
Egnyte Login
After reopening the app, the standard Egnyte login screen is displayed. The user signs in with their Egnyte credentials to complete the process.
Conditional Access for GCC High Users
Conditional Access policies configured in the GCC High Microsoft Entra environment are enforced during sign-in and on every return from the background, consistent with the behavior described for commercial users.
