Using Egnyte AI Agents on Mobile
Egnyte AI Agents automate repetitive, time-consuming tasks by providing intelligent insights and content summaries. These agents are accessible for interaction directly through the Egnyte Android mobile app.
- The iOS version is planned for end June 2026.
- This feature is available for Platform Plans with AI add-on and included in the New Generation Platform plans. Contact your account manager or Egnyte Sales team to get this feature.
Finding and Selecting an Agent
The AI section of the app serves as the primary hub for agent interaction.
The Appropriate Agent For a Task Can Be Identified Using the Following Methods
-
Search and Filter: Specific agents can be located by name or by utilizing category filters:
- Any: Displays all available agents.
- Created by Egnyte: Displays system-standard agents.
- Created by me: Displays agents previously created via the Web UI.
-
Trending Now: Displays the most frequently used agents within the domain.
-
Quick Switch: A dropdown menu at the top of the AI Assistant screen allows for instant switching between different agents.
Interacting with an Agent
Once an agent is selected, interaction begins by providing input to receive insights or automate tasks. The mobile interface supports several input and configuration options:
-
Attaching Content: The + icon allows for the inclusion of specific files or folders to provide context for the agent.
-
Input Methods: Requests can be submitted via Text, Voice Input, or by selecting from a list of Existing Prompts.
-
Configuration: Depending on the agent's settings, the Source (Egnyte or Web) and the specific Model can be adjusted before submission. Note that selection by the agent user may be restricted if disabled by the agent creator.
Managing Agent Responses
After a prompt is submitted, the agent generates a response based on the provided input and attached files.
-
Sources and Citations: If a response includes references to specific documents or websites, the provided links grant direct access to those sources.
-
Response Actions: The Copy button facilitates moving text to other applications, while the Thumbs Up/Down icons allow users to provide feedback on response quality.
Chat History and Session Management
The mobile interface includes tools to manage ongoing and past interactions:
- Accessing History: The three-dot menu provides access to previous chat history.
-
New Sessions: A new chat can be initiated from the same three-dot menu, allowing for a fresh start with the selected agent.
Known Limitations
Creating and Editing Agents: Agent management, including creation and editing, is not supported on mobile devices. The Egnyte Web UI must be used to modify or create new agents.
