External Release Notes: iOS Mobile App v 9.6 (April 23, 2026)
New Features and Improvements
AI Support in File Preview
AI Driven Document Ask and Summarization and Q&A is now available when opening shared document links in the Egnyte iOS app, allowing logged-in users with access to get AI assistance directly within the preview.
Respecting Folder-Level File Request Restrictions
The mobile app now dynamically respects folder-specific security settings for File Requests. If an administrator or folder owner disables Allow upload link creation for this folder for a specific directory via the Web UI, the option to Request files from others is automatically removed from the mobile context menu. This ensures a more streamlined experience by displaying only the actions permitted by current folder policies.
Issues Addressed
Improved AI Chat File Visibility
A fix has been implemented to resolve an issue where files retrieved during an AI chat session were not visible on mobile devices. Previously, while the web interface correctly displayed files used to generate AI responses, the mobile app would occasionally show an empty results field. With this update, all files cited or retrieved by the AI are now fully visible and accessible directly within the mobile chat interface, ensuring a consistent experience across the Egnyte ecosystem.
