External Release Notes: Web UI (April 22, 2026)
New Features and Enhancements
Specific Recipient Email in Audit Report for Co-Editable Links
Egnyte now includes recipient email addresses in audit reports for co-editable links shared with specific individuals.
This provides admins with enhanced visibility into exactly who is accessing and editing shared content. By tying file events to specific users rather than anonymous link activity, this update strengthens accountability and simplifies the monitoring and auditing of external collaboration.
Enhanced User Search in Auto-Suggest
Egnyte has improved the platform’s search logic to make finding users more intuitive. The auto-suggest fields now support full-name searches (for example, John Doe), correctly filtering the list to surface the exact match as the top result.
This update streamlines workflows for adding collaborators, assigning tasks, or sharing files enabling users to find the right person faster.
Manage Email Domains for Standard User Invitations (General Availability)
Egnyte now offers its customers the ability to easily manage email domains for Standard User invitations. The feature was previously made available to a limited number of customers and has now been made generally available.
Standard User Restrictions ensure that only the users from trusted business partners and specific organizations can be added to the domain enhancing access control and user management.
Browse by Tags - Side Panel Displays Only Tag Values with Associated Records
While browsing by tags, the side panel now displays only those tag values that have associated files or folders in the current listing. This helps users quickly identify relevant metadata, enabling more accurate filtering and easier navigation of files and folders based on available tag associations.
Customizable Project Metadata Available via Project Public API
Customizable Project Metadata is now available via the Project Public API, allowing teams to define and manage project-specific attributes in a flexible and scalable way.
Issues Addressed
Issue with Displaying of Complete Folder Structure in Left Navigation Sidebar
Certain folders were not fully loading in the left navigation sidebar, resulting in an incomplete display of the folder structure. These folders remained accessible through search results.
Issue in Accessing Share Link
Attempting to open a share link resulted in a blank screen along with a generic error message that did not clearly indicate the cause of the problem.
Font Size Changes in Egnyte Sign Templates
There was an issue with changing the font size in Egnyte Sign templates, where certain fields were getting cut off despite no overlap between field boxes. Attempts to reduce the font size in document fields were not retained, and the fields reverted to the default size upon reopening the document.
Filename Issue in Workflows
An issue was identified in workflows where filenames were getting shortened when folders were moved as part of an automation step. This impacted the review process, as reviewers could not easily identify files by name and had to open each file individually to locate the correct one.
Error in Accessing AI Features in Web UI and Desktop
Users encountered issues while accessing AI features on the Web UI and Desktop, with intermittent error messages affecting usability.
Issue with Applying Manual Metadata Tags
Users were unable to save manual metadata tags applied to files in folder-scoped metadata. After saving, changes were silently reverted. The issue was caused by slow custom metadata task processing, which resulted in the metadata record not being found at the time of the save operation.
Google Drive Import Not Working for Some Files
Certain files were failing to import from Google Drive into Egnyte. The issue prevented affected users from successfully migrating or syncing content from Google Drive.
