Egnyte enables its users to bring their Google Drive files into Egnyte's platform through the upload option in the Web UI. This feature provides an easy way to the users to consolidate their files, ensuring everything is in one place for seamless collaboration across teams.
Prerequisites
The latest Google Workspace Integration should be enabled on the domain.

- Google Workspace Editions: Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise, Enterprise for Education, and Nonprofits Legacy
- G Suite Editions: Business, Education, and Enterprise
Enablement Process for Admins
Admins must enable the integration for the users from the Apps & Integrations page.
- Navigate to the Apps & Integrations page and search for Google Drive Import integration.
- Click on Enable Integration button within the Google Drive Import app tile.
If the integration is already enabled, the admin can change the settings. To do this, click on the Settings icon of the Google Drive Import integration. -
Choose the desired option from the Status dropdown and click Save:
- Not enabled for domain: Google Drive Import integration will not be enabled for the domain users
- Added for Groups: Makes it available to a specific group of users
- Allowed for users: Makes it available to all users, but the users need to add the integration if they want to use it
- Added for all users: Makes it available to all users
The integration will be enabled as per the selected option.
Initial Configuration for Users
Non-admin users will be required to configure Google Drive Import and grant access to import files from their Google Drive account. This is a one-time process that must be completed before the first attempt to import files from Google Drive.
- Navigate to the Apps & Integrations page and search for Google Drive Import integration.
- Click on the Settings icon.
- Click on Continue to configure Google Drive Import.
Alternatively, when the user clicks on the Upload icon -> Import from Google Drive option in the Web UI for the first time, they can allow access to continue uploading the files from their Google Drive.
- Click on Allow Access.
- Login to the Google account and click on Allow to authorize access to the files. A message will appear after successful authentication. Close the pop-up.
Import Files from Google Drive
- Click on the Upload icon in the Web UI.
- Click on Import from Google Drive. The user will be required to configure and grant access during the first-time use of this option, if not already done.
- Select the file(s) from the Google Drive to upload. The selected files will be uploaded and the progress will be visible on the Web UI. The files will appear in the selected folder after completion.
Limitations
Users can import up to 10 files at a time, with a combined size not exceeding 1 GB.
