New Features And Enhancements
Egnyte MCP Server
The Egnyte MCP Server enables secure, controlled access to Egnyte content for AI-powered tools and assistants using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This service enables AI assistants to securely access and interact with Egnyte data using standardized methods and enterprise-grade OAuth authentication.
Egnyte is available as an app in ChatGPT and as a connector in Claude enabling secure access to Egnyte files for natural language searches, summaries, and insights while adhering to the organization's permissions. Additionally, any AI client that supports the Model Context Protocol with OAuth 2.0 authentication can connect to the Egnyte MCP Server.
- This feature, previously in Limited Availability, is now available to all customers.
- This feature is available for all plans with the Copilot add-on enabled by default or purchased. This feature is being gradually rolled out and will be enabled for all eligible customers by 24th February, 2026.
Option to Allow External LLM Access via MCP
Admins now have the option to allow external LLM clients to connect to Egnyte via MCP. This setting provides them with greater control over which AI systems can work directly with Egnyte content to answer questions and perform actions within the Egnyte environment.
Egnyte Remote MCP Server feature is available for Essential, Elite, and Ultimate plans OR Platform Enterprise or Enterprise Lite plans with the Copilot add-on. Contact your account manager or Egnyte Sales team to get access to this feature.
