External Release Notes: Desktop App for Windows v 3.31.0 (December 19, 2025)
New Features and Improvements
Project Center Tab
A new Project Center tab is now available in the Desktop App, giving users a convenient way to browse, search, and open their Egnyte project folders directly within the app without switching to the browser.
This feature is available for all domains that have Projects enabled. Contact the account manager or Egnyte Sales team for more information.
Issues Addressed
'Copy link (default options)' Issue for Recipient-Only Links
Copy link (default options) did not work when the default Share Link type was set to Private (recipient-only) in the Web UI. In this case, the Desktop App would show an incorrect error message and fail to copy a link to the clipboard.
The Desktop App now correctly handles this scenario by opening the Share window, allowing recipients to be defined as required.
Fixed Shortcut Creation for Offline Files and Folders
Egnyte shortcuts could not be created for files or folders marked as Sync for offline access. In some cases, shortcut creation only worked after reopening the Egnyte menu.
Shortcut creation now works correctly for offline-synced content without additional steps.
False Conflict Detection for Adobe InDesign Files
Adobe InDesign files could incorrectly trigger a version conflict while being actively edited, resulting in duplicate copies of the same file.
Fixed Conflict Copies Caused by Co-Edit Policy Configuration
Resolved an issue where conflict copies could be created when the co-edit policy was set to 'Always co-edit' but Egnyte storage was not added to Microsoft Office.
Known Issues and Limitations
No new limitations have been discovered.
