External Release Notes: Desktop App Core for Mac v 1.12.0 (November 21, 2025)
New Features And Enhancements
Improved Handling of MacOS Keychain Login Errors
Clearer detection and messaging have been introduced for a recurring macOS Keychain issue (Apple error errSecInteractionNotAllowed –25308) that may prevent login when the system keychain is unable to read or write authentication tokens. The issue originates within the macOS Keychain itself—not the Egnyte application—and may occur due to corrupted or misconfigured keychain permissions or data.
The desktop application now identifies this specific error and directs affected users to a dedicated helpdesk article containing safe, step-by-step troubleshooting instructions.
Issues Addressed
Login Blocked Due to Configuration Save Issue
A configuration used by the desktop app could not be saved in certain environments because of incompatible file settings. Since this configuration is required for the app to function, the issue prevented some users from logging in.
Incorrect “Missing on Cloud” Skip Notifications
The desktop app could occasionally display incorrect Missing on Cloud skip messages for folders that were actually present and syncing normally. This occurred during race timing conflicts while files were being uploaded, causing the app to momentarily misidentify the folder’s status.
Duplicate Local Items and Related Sync Issues
Duplicate local items could be created for the same cloud file or folder due to a timing conflict during sync. This resulted in the following outcomes:
- items not appearing after upload
- file names receiving unexpected “ 2” (or higher) suffixes
- occasional deletion conflicts
Connection Drops During Large Uploads
DA Core could enter an unstable state when uploading a large number of files — such as during folder copies or bulk moves—which led to dropped connections, timeouts, and unnecessary retries. This behavior caused uploads to take significantly longer than expected.
File Download Failures Due to Invalid Content Range
Some files could not be downloaded because the file provider entered a bad state when the content size on disk did not match the expected range. In these cases, attempts to open the affected files failed with an “Invalid argument” alert, as the file provider was unable to handle partially read files whose downloaded content size did not match the requested range.
Offline Sync Failing for New Files
New files added to the Offline Sync folder were not uploading, and files uploaded through the web were not syncing down. While older files continued to sync normally, newer ones did not. The problem was caused by an internal data error that prevented the drive from syncing any new items.
Known Issues And Limitations
No new limitations have been discovered.
