External Release Notes: Smart Cache v 5.1.12 (December 1, 2025)
Issues Addressed
Improved Stability During Large File Uploads
Smart Cache would briefly go offline if a file became locked during large file uploads. The device now handles these situations smoothly without interrupting user access.
Aligned Folder Permission Handling with Windows Standards
Saving files in read-only or restricted folders through Smart Cache caused Revit to crash. Smart Cache now correctly handles permission-denied cases, aligning with standard Windows error behavior instead.
Improved Smart Cache Startup Performance
Optimized Smart Cache startup by cleaning up empty folders during initialization, resulting in faster device startup and reduced downtime after restarts.
Stability Enhancement for Concurrent File Renames
A rare issue that could cause Smart Cache to enter an error state during simultaneous file renames and active writes has been resolved, improving reliability in high-concurrency workflows.
Automatic Refresh of Idle TCP Connections
TCP Connections are now automatically refreshed after a minute of inactivity to prevent failures caused by firewalls closing idle sessions, ensuring more reliable and uninterrupted communication between components.
Optimized Metadata Caching for Better Folder Performance
Increased the metadata cache duration from 5 to 15 seconds to reduce unnecessary refreshes and improve performance during folder browsing and file access.
