External Release Notes: Secure & Govern v 25.1 (November 13, 2025)
New Features and Improvements
Scheduling Capability for Permission Reviews and Sensitive Content Reviews
Scheduled Permission Reviews allows customers to set up future and recurring permission reviews, enabling customers to determine the frequency of those permission reviews that align with their organizational audits. More information on this capability can be found in the Permission Review Request, Completion & Cancellation helpdesk article.
Scheduled Sensitive Content Reviews allows customers to set up future and recurring sensitive content reviews on those folders that have detected sensitive content. More information on this capability can be found in the Actions in the Sensitive Content Tab helpdesk article.
Bulk Data Owner Permission Reviews
Bulk Owner permission reviews improve the permission workflow where a parent folder permission review request can invoke permission review requests to be sent to the Data Owners of all the subfolders underneath the parent folder rather than just the parent folder Data Owner. This allows individual Data Owners to review permissions on folders that they have been delegated as the Data Owner to, thus minimizing the administrative burden of the S&G admin in having to review all permission reviews.
Read Purview Label from a File and Add as Egnyte Metadata
Egnyte now supports reading the Purview label from a file that is uploaded, created, or edited, and automatically adds the label details as Egnyte metadata on that file. This capability applies to both Purview labels with and without access control or encryption.
This feature enables users to leverage Egnyte metadata added through this mechanism to search for files in Egnyte that already carry a Purview label but that were not labeled by Egnyte’s own integration with Purview.
Sensitive Content Identification in Inactive
All files in the Inactive area are now included in Sensitive Content identification. This is for identification only, no remediation actions can be performed on files in Inactive.
