Overview
Inactive Containers provide a dedicated space within the Egnyte platform where users can store content that is no longer actively used but still needs to be accessible for viewing and compliance purposes. This separate folder hierarchy helps organizations keep their main workspace organized while maintaining easy access to the older content.
Benefits and Use Cases
- Increased Data Security: Moving old project folders to Inactive Containers helps reduce the risk of unauthorized access while keeping the information available for viewing.
- Compliance and Retention: Companies in industries like AEC can use Inactive Containers to store content for extended periods to meet regulatory and compliance requirements without affecting active project spaces.
- Minimal Access: Users can search for and view files in Inactive Containers but cannot modify them unless it is necessary, helping maintain data integrity with viewer-only permissions.
- Easy Restoration: If users need to modify files stored in Inactive Containers, they can easily request to restore the data to the active workspace.
