New Features and Improvements
Egnyte Actions Improvements
The menu now always appears centred on the screen, includes the Egnyte Actions feature name and logo, and displays the name of the file or folder that triggered the menu.
Egnyte Actions for Folders Standardization
The Egnyte Actions menu for folders has been streamlined by removing duplicated items from the native menu, keeping only the most-used sharing options. It is now aligned with the file context menu.
Duplicate Option in the Egnyte Actions Menu
A new Duplicate option has been added to the context menu for files and folders to create a copy of any file or folder quickly.
Egnyte Copilot in Desktop App
Copilot Tab in Desktop User Interface
A new Copilot tab is now available in the Egnyte Desktop App, giving users a dedicated space to interact with Egnyte Copilot without being redirected to the browser. From the tab, users can:
- Ask questions in natural language to get instant answers from files stored in Egnyte
- Create custom agents and knowledge bases from within the desktop app
Copilot Option in Egnyte Actions Menu
The Egnyte Actions menu for files and folders now includes a Copilot option. With this, users can:
- Select one folder or multiple files or folders and query Copilot directly to get relevant information
- Get context-specific insights, summaries, or answers without having to select a specific Knowledge base
For a single file, the option is shown as Ask. For multiple files or folder(s), the option is shown as Copilot.
Copilot tab and context menu option will be available for domains with Egnyte Copilot Add-on. Please contact the Egnyte account manager or Egnyte Sales team to enable this Add-on.
Desktop Configurations - Change to 'Allow users to add drives' Setting (Limited Availability)
The current setting Allow users to add drives will be renamed to Allow users to manage drives.
The functionality will also change when the setting is disabled:
- Users will no longer be able to add or retain manually configured drives
- Any existing manual drives will be removed, leaving only the drives defined in the configuration.
Desktop Configurations is currently in Limited Availability. It will become Generally Available in the week of September 1 - 5, 2025.

Additional Information & Resources
How to Upgrade
Visit the Desktop App installers article to download and install the latest version of the Desktop App or update the existing app to the newest version on all the devices. It may take a few days for the latest version to propagate to all user devices. However, users can manually upgrade their app immediately after the release.
