External Release Notes: Desktop App Core for Mac v 1.9.0 (July 10, 2025)
New Features and Improvements
Connected Folders from External Device Improvements
External Device Sync Prompt
When an external storage device is plugged in, the Egnyte Desktop App now displays a pop-up prompt allowing users to sync the entire device to the cloud. Users can either initiate the sync immediately or dismiss the prompt and connect manually using the context menu option.
Improved Handling of Reconnected External Devices
When a previously connected external device is plugged in, Egnyte now displays a custom prompt asking whether to resume synchronization or remove the connection. Sync will only resume if explicitly chosen by the user, maintaining control and avoid unintended data updates.
Improved Visibility During Reimport Process
We’ve enhanced the user experience during drive reimport by adding clearer visual indicators and status messages.
Improved macOS Startup Behavior
The Egnyte Desktop App Core now starts silently in the background after system reboot, without opening the main application window ensuring a non-intrusive user experience.
