New Features And Enhancements
Prompt Wizard in Ask
Egnyte now makes it easier for users to craft better AI prompts with the help of the Prompt Wizard. This tool allows users to refine their prompts effortlessly, helping them create clearer and more structured instructions for Egnyte’s Ask AI feature.
By improving prompt quality, users can expect more accurate and relevant responses. It can also bring down the time spent on framing the queries for their interaction on a document.
Assigned Tasks Widget on Home Page (Limited Availability)
A new Tasks Assigned to Me widget is now available on Egnyte Home Page, designed to streamline task management for users.
This widget provides a consolidated view of all Workflow tasks and Secure & Govern issues assigned to the current user, displaying the task name and due date for quick reference. When users click on a specific task, they are navigated directly to the appropriate section to complete the task.
This new widget is available on the home page of both the WebUI and Egnyte Desktop App.
The feature is available to only a limited number of customers as of now for the Web UI. Currently it is available only for MacOS via Desktop App Core. Please contact Egnyte Support to get this feature enabled.
Issues Addressed
Error in Workflows Template When Metadata was Deleted
There was an error while editing a workflow template if metadata used as a trigger condition was removed. Users can now successfully edit affected templates to update or remove the invalid metadata trigger.
Security Updates for Opening Storage Sync or Smart Cache Settings
Egnyte has addressed a security vulnerability related to the OpenredirectURL, which is activated when an end user clicks on the Storage Sync device FQDN URL from Collaborate -> Settings -> Devices -> Storage Devices menu.
Refer here for instructions to whitelist the device IP of the Storage Sync device prior to deployment and authentication.
Whitelisting is applicable only for Storage Sync devices with a public IP address or those planning to assign a new public IP address. Support for Smart Cache will be available in the upcoming release.
