Allowlist or Whitelist Public IP Addresses for Hybrid Devices

Egnyte provides the ability for the end-users to whitelist public IP addresses for Smart Cache and Storage Sync while performing authentication.

Hybrid devices with public IP addresses can be exposed to security risks due to the open redirect url that hybrid devices use to authenticate the Egnyte user account. In order to avoid these issues, Egnyte restricts the open redirect url to trusted networks domains or IPs only.

The users can add public IP addresses that they are planning to assign for the devices as trusted networks in their Egnyte domain’s Collaborate settings to successfully configure Smart Cache or Storage Sync devices.

The option will be available to the customers using Storage Sync v13.6 or higher version and Smart Cache v5.1.2 or higher version. If a factory reset of the appliance is performed, the new setup configuration screen will be displayed for Storage Sync v13.6 and Smart Cache v5.1.2 onwards.
