Inactive Container is created within the domain and it appears as a top-level root folder along with Shared and Private folders.

Inactive Container shares the same storage allocated to a domain. In other words, content residing in Shared, Private and Inactive root folders add up to the total used storage for a domain.
Are There Any Data Egress Limits on an Inactive Container?
There are no egress limits applicable to an Inactive Container. Admins can restore any number of folders from the Inactive Container back to the Shared folder.
Are There Any User Limits to an Inactive Container?
All Power Users and Standard Users in a domain can access the Inactive Container if they have read-only permissions on folders residing inside Inactive Container.
Can Users See the Inactive Container Through Desktop App or the Mobile Application?
For security reasons, users can view Inactive Containers only through the WebUI.
Can I Directly Upload Files into the Inactive Container?
Content can only be moved from Shared to Inactive Container through Content Lifecycle interface or automated policies.
Can I Share Links to Files or Folders Residing in the Inactive Container?
Users cannot create links to files or folders in the Inactive Container. The content will require to be restored to the Shared folder.
Can I Search for Content Within Files Residing in the Inactive Container?
Inactive Containers allow search for content within files as well as metadata associated with files and folders.
Can I Preview Files Residing in the Inactive Container?
Users can preview MS Office files, PDFs and Google docs inside the Inactive Container.
Can I Move Content from Archive Domain to Inactive Container?
Content cannot be moved from the Archive Domain to the Inactive Container.
Can I Apply Secure and Govern Classification Policies, Legal Hold or Subject-Access Removal Work on Inactive Containers?
