External Release notes: Desktop App Core for Mac 1.1.0 ( Aug 28th, 2024)
New Features and Improvements
Opening links directly in the App (phase 2)
Egnyte provides an option to open files or folders directly in the Egnyte Desktop App from the web UI. This update aims to enhance the link-opening experience within the platform.
When a file is opened in the Egnyte Desktop App for the first time, users are now prompted to choose its behavior, unlike previous versions where the containing folder would open automatically.
User can select the checkbox Always perform this action to set it as the default option. This setting can be changed later on in Desktop App Preferences.
Alert informing about unsynced content after drive removal
After a drive is removed from the Desktop app UI, a new alert is displayed to notify users of any unsynced content. After selecting the 'Show' button users are redirected to the location where unsynced content is preserved.
Issues addressed
Desktop App Core not responding
App became unresponsive, stopped syncing, and disappeared from the menu bar, preventing uninstallation.
Randomly created copies of documents creating conflicts
App randomly created copies of documents causing file conflicts.
Issue with Folders Synced for Offline Access
