New Types of Notifications in the Egnyte iOS App

Egnyte iOS Mobile App v. 8.25 | Release Date: December 12, 2023

Secure and Govern Notifications on Mobile

Customers who subscribe to Egnyte Secure and Govern governance solution and who are using the Egnyte mobile app will now have the possibility to receive sensitive issue alerts and sensitive content alerts on their mobile devices. The option to receive mobile alerts is turned on by default and the setting can be changed in the S&G Alerts tab.

Alerts are delivered to S&G users via push notifications, ensuring that they are visible on the device screen, even when it's locked. Users can also navigate to the Notifications screen within the Egnyte mobile app to review the notifications.

iPad users are offered the option to be redirected to their Secure and Govern login page. Once authenticated, users will be directed to either the 'Issues' tab or the 'Sensitive Content' tab, depending on the nature of the alert.

Location-Triggered Project Access Notifications

In this release, we are also introducing "Location-Triggered Project Access Notifications". This new feature enhances project management and file access experience. It streamlines users’ access to Project Folders within the app when they are within the project's vicinity. If the geographic location is set within a Project Folder, users who travel to the location will receive an automatic notification upon arriving at the project's address. The notification will offer the users an option to jump directly to the relevant Project Folder.

Users who want to receive the Project Access Notifications need to enable location services in the device settings and allow the Egnyte app to access the device location. A prompt to allow location permissions will be shown to Project Folders users when they go to a project folder for the first time after the release (provided that it has the geolocation set).

Location-Triggered Project Access Notifications are available for Project Control Add-on users only.
