This depends on the following conditions:
File Size:
How big is the file or folder you are uploading?. The bigger the file, the longer it will take. Take the total size of your files into account when uploading multiple files or folders.
Internet Bandwidth:
What is your upload/download rate to Egnyte? You may use the URL below to test your current bandwidth to and from Egnyte. Replace <domain> with your actual Egnyte account name.
https://<domain>.egnyte.com/speed-test/
(e.g. https://support.egnyte.com/speed-test)
(e.g. https://support.egnyte.com/speed-test)
Once you have the total size of the files you are uploading/downloading and your bandwidth rate, you may now calculate the estimated upload/download time.
You can calculate the approximate duration manually:
Say you have 100 MB (megabytes) of files to upload. 100 MB equals 800 Mb (100 x 8).
(Filesize in Mb / Upload Speed in Mbps) / (60) = Total Upload time in minutes.
Below are some examples of upload times:
File Size Upload Speed Upload Time
100 MB 5.0 Mbps 2 mins. 39 secs.
100 MB 1.5 Mbps 8 mins. 33 secs.
100 MB 256 Kbps 51 mins. 19 secs.
Bandwidth rate varies depending on network conditions and these are only estimates.
