External Release Notes: Desktop App Core for Mac v 1.22.1 (November 5, 2026)
Issues Addressed
Desktop App Stuck in “Reimporting” Status
Users reported that the Desktop App remained stuck on Reimporting for weeks and continued to show the same status every time they restarted Mac. In one case, the app also showed Sync Completed despite still being stuck, while in another, some folders visible on the Web UI were missing from the drive.
The issue occurred after updating macOS to version 27 (Golden Gate) and, in another case, after transferring data to a new Mac using a Time Machine backup.
Duplicated Tooltips on the Menu Bar Icon
On macOS 27.2, hovering over the Egnyte menu bar icon displayed the sync status tooltip twice. Previously, a macOS bug prevented the native tooltip from appearing, so the Desktop App introduced a custom tooltip as a workaround. Apple addressed this issue in macOS 27.2, restoring the native tooltip and causing both tooltips to appear. The custom tooltip has now been removed, as it is no longer needed.
