New Features and Enhancements
Stronger Agent Security with Token-Based Registration (Limited Availability)
Migration App now offers a more secure way for agents to connect to Egnyte. When creating an agent, admins receive a one-time registration token to enter in the agent's system tray. From then on, the agent verifies its identity automatically on every connection. Credentials are no longer stored in configuration files on the agent machine, and the verification renews itself without any action from admins. Existing agents are flagged in the Migration app until an admin validates them, and if an agent machine is ever lost or compromised, admins can revoke its access immediately.
This feature is currently in Limited Availability for all customers. To request this feature, contact our Products team.
Case-Insensitive Name Matching in Permission Mapping
Permission mapping now matches source user and group names regardless of letter casing. Admins no longer need to ensure the names in their mapping CSV exactly match the casing used by the source system. Entries like Admin Users and admin users are treated as the same group, making permission mapping more reliable.
