Migration App allows domain admins to easily migrate data from On-Premises sources to Egnyte.
A migration agent is essential for carrying out these migrations. Egnyte enables users to easily create and set up a migration agent through a simple step-by-step process.
Steps to Create and Set up an Agent
- Log into the Migration App and click on On-Prem Migration.
- Click on the Add New Agent button on the Migration Dashboard.
- Click on Download Migration Agent for Windows to download the agent setup and click Next.
- The setup file will be downloaded on the user’s system. Open the file to start the setup.
- Click Next.
- Check the Open Cloud Migration Manager Agent after exiting Setup Wizard and click on Finish.
- There will be an icon in the system tray called Cloud Migration Manager Agent. Users can click and configure the agent or carry out further steps from the Migration Dashboard. Enter the Agent name and click on Generate Agent ID.
- Click Next to view the ID generated.
- Click on Copy Agent ID to copy the ID generated.
- Click Next to continue.
- Click on Done to finish.
Steps to Configure and Connect an Agent
Once the setup is completed, Cloud Migration Manager Agent from the system tray will automatically pop up.
- Enter the destination Egnyte domain, the corresponding Egnyte username, and the Agent ID copied earlier.
- Enter the Windows credentials and click on Next.
- The registration process will begin, and the status will show up as Connected to Cloud once it is completed.
Navigate to the Migration Dashboard, and the newly created agent will be connected. The agent can be used to create the migration jobs.
