External Release Notes: iOS Mobile App v 9.7 (June 2, 2026)
New Features and Improvements
File and Folder Context Selection in AI Chats
Users can select specific files and folders as context sources before or during an AI Assistant conversation to ensure more accurate results. The assistant automatically scopes to the current folder upon launch, allows for real-time source adjustments within the chat, and enables users to refine answers by selecting or de-selecting specific reference files for answer regeneration.
AI Assistant Replaces Ask
The Ask tab now provides entitled customers access to the full AI Assistant experience upon clicking the AI button in the preview screen. This integration allows users to leverage web search, connectors, and cross-file context without leaving the current document. The assistant automatically scopes to the active file and displays smart startup prompts tailored to specific document types, such as contracts or floor plans, to accelerate common tasks. Customers without access to these advanced AI capabilities will continue to see the same experience they use today, with Ask simply being renamed to AI.
Offline Storage Widget
A new offline storage dashboard widget on the Homepage screen provides real-time visibility into offline file readiness and storage limits. This central widget displays a visual meter of storage usage against the app's allocated quota, alongside a sync status indicator to ensure mission-critical files are fully downloaded before losing connectivity. Users can modify storage limits directly from the widget.
Issues Addressed
Upload Error During Image Upload
Some users experienced intermittent Upload Error messages when attempting to upload images. Improvements have been made to the upload process to ensure files are transmitted successfully across various network conditions, including Wi-Fi and cellular connections.
Issue Opening Files With ‘#’ in File Name
Files containing a # character in their names could not be opened via the Apple Files app. These items now load correctly, ensuring consistent file access across both the Egnyte mobile app and the iOS native file system.
