Multi-Selection Support
Users can now apply Egnyte Actions across multiple files and/or folders in a single operation, streamlining common workflows such as sharing, duplicating, or caching multiple items at once.
Dark Mode Support
Egnyte Actions now supports Windows Dark Mode, providing a consistent visual experience that matches modern desktop appearance settings.
Adaptive Block Caching - File-Level Cache Warming (Limited Availability)
Adaptive Block Caching now supports file-level cache warming through the Egnyte Actions context menu. Users can select individual files or multiple files and folders to be pre-cached locally, improving access speed for frequently used content. This extends the existing folder-level cache warming capability.
This feature is currently in Limited Availability for all customers having the New Gen AEC plans (AEC Essential, AEC Elite, AEC Ultimate) or Special File Handler Add-on. To request this feature, contact our Products team.
Improved Lock Handling for Autodesk Applications
When a user opens an AutoCAD drawing (.dwg file), the Desktop App now synchronously acquires a lock on the corresponding data store (.dst) file before allowing the operation to proceed. If the lock cannot be acquired (for example, because another user is editing the file), access is denied immediately rather than allowing a potentially conflicting edit. This prevents data corruption in multi-user AutoCAD workflows.
Optimized CPU Usage
Reduced idle-state CPU usage of the Desktop App, improving overall system performance especially on devices with limited resources.
Issues Addressed
Files Lock Incorrectly when Adaptive Block Caching is Enabled
Files could incorrectly open as read-only and become locked in Egnyte when Adaptive Block Caching was enabled. In some cases, this required users to manually unlock files through the Web UI. The Desktop App now correctly manages file locks regardless of the caching mode in use.
Improved 3ds Max Compatibility
Users working with 3ds Max could encounter errors when saving material libraries, with messages about being unable to rename temporary files. The Desktop App now correctly handles the file operations used by 3ds Max for material library saves.
Revit File Versioning Issue when Opening from Recent Files
Opening Revit files from the application's Recent Files list could load an outdated cached version instead of the latest version from the cloud. This could occur when another user had recently saved changes to the same file. The Desktop App now correctly validates and retrieves the most current file version when accessed through application shortcuts and recent file lists.
Reduced High CPU Usage on Systems with Limited Resources
The Desktop App could consume excessive CPU resources, particularly on systems configured with a limited number of CPU cores. The Desktop App now manages CPU resources more efficiently, reducing impact on overall system performance.
Save and File Opening Issue for Unreal Engine Project Files
Unreal Engine project files could fail to save or take an unusually long time to open when stored on the Desktop App drive. The Desktop App now correctly handles the file operations used by Unreal Engine, ensuring files can be opened and saved reliably.
Save Errors for HEC-RAS Project Files
Saving geometry data (.g01 and related files) within HEC-RAS projects could produce intermittent errors, sometimes requiring users to save multiple times. The Desktop App now correctly handles HEC-RAS file operations, including support for additional HEC-RAS file types (.g0x, .p0x, .u0x).
Random Failure Messages when Switching Between Desktop App Menu Items
Users could intermittently see random failure messages when switching between menu items in the Desktop App. The Desktop App now correctly handles menu navigation without surfacing these errors.
Known Issues and Limitations
Windows Security Dialog when Selecting 17 or More Items
When selecting 17 or more files and/or folders and opening the right-click context menu, Windows may display a security warning dialog, Opening these files might be harmful to your computer.
This is a Windows security mechanism that is triggered when a higher number of items are accessed simultaneously. Users can click OK to proceed and access the context menu normally. This does not affect the files themselves and no data is at risk.
