Web UI - Advanced Spreadsheet Analysis in Ask, Quick View, Export Tag Views, and Custom Project Metadata

External Release Notes: Web UI (March 12, 2026)

New Features and Enhancements

Advanced Spreadsheet Analysis in Ask

Egnyte now enables advanced analysis while interacting on a spreadsheet in Ask. Users can work with complex spreadsheets and provide inputs in natural language to perform tasks such as deeper data lookups, aggregations and calculations, trend analysis, comparisons and rankings, filtering, and counting.

Customizable Project Metadata

Customizable Project Folder Metadata lets the users add custom fields and project-specific statuses to better capture the details of the projects. These fields are available when creating or editing a project and are also visible in the Project Center on both the Web UI and Desktop.

This helps teams track project information in a way that fits their workflows and makes it easier to reflect the different stages and requirements of each project.

Project folders are available in the Platform Enterprise Lite, Platform Enterprise, Life Science, and GxP plans as well as plans that have the Project Hub enabled. Contact the Egnyte account manager or the Egnyte Sales team for more information.

Export Metadata Tag Views

Users can now export metadata tag views while browsing by tags. After selecting at least one tag, the report can be downloaded as a CSV file.

This makes it easier to review tagged file information and work with it in a structured format. The report can help teams analyze tagged content and maintain records for auditing, tracking and reporting purposes.

Issues Addressed

Duplicate Emails for Shared Links Created or Accessed for Video Files

There was an issue where two emails were sent when a link was created for a video file. The same duplication also occurred for the emails sent when the link was accessed.

Issue with Co-Editing Using Google Integration for External Links

The Co-edit with Google option did not appear when an external user accessed a public co-editable link, preventing them from collaborating on the file.

Additional Information and Resources

The current release contains a few improvements to existing functionality.

  • Minor UI Improvements
  • Minor performance, security, and stability improvements
  • Minor bug fixes

These changes will be available to all users by March 12, 2026.
