Background
Recently, an important security issue was identified and addressed in version 2.4.8 of WebEdit. In our ongoing commitment to ensure the safety and security of our users' data, we have made the decision to officially declare the End of Life for all WebEdit versions below 2.4.8. This step is necessary to safeguard your data and protect you from potential security breaches.
End-of-Life Announcement
At the designated EoL date, which has been set for September 30th, 2023, users who are still on WebEdit versions 2.4.7 or lower will no longer be able to use the application. This is to ensure that all users are using the most secure and up-to-date version of WebEdit.
Why is this important?
Using outdated versions of WebEdit may expose your data to potential security risks. Upgrading to the latest version will provide you with enhanced security features, bug fixes, and improved performance, ensuring a safer and more reliable experience.
Next Steps
We strongly encourage all users currently on WebEdit versions 2.4.7 or lower to upgrade to the latest version as soon as possible. This will ensure the continued functionality and security of your data.
To facilitate the upgrade process, we have prepared detailed documentation and resources to guide you through the upgrade process.
Please note that the End of Life date has been set for September 30th, 2023. It is important to take action and upgrade before this date to avoid any disruptions in service. Users on older versions of WebEdit might see an error message "unknown error opening file to edit"
