External Release Notes: Web UI (November 26, 2025)
New Features And Enhancements
Inherit Folder Options to Sub-Folders (Limited Availability)
Users now have the option to choose how folder options are inherited by subfolders. This gives them greater control over how settings are inherited across the folder structure. It helps maintain consistent permissions while allowing flexibility for specific needs.
They can choose to apply the changes to:
- This folder only: The settings will be applicable only to the selected folder and the sub-folders will not be affected.
- This folder and the subfolders (respect overrides): This is the default selection where the settings are applicable to the selected folder and its subfolders. Any of the overridden custom settings will be respected in this case. The future subfolders will automatically inherit the settings; however, users can manually change the setting, as needed.
- This folder and all subfolders (override everything): The settings will be applicable to the selected folder and all of its subfolders including the ones with custom settings. The future subfolders will automatically inherit the settings; however, users can manually change the setting, as needed.
The feature is currently available to a limited number of customers that are not using any of the hybrid devices (Storage Sync and/or Smart Cache). To request this feature, contact our Products team.
Preview Insights in File Listing and Search Results
Users can now preview basic view insights directly from the content listing and search result pages by clicking a new button under the Status column.
- This feature is currently limited to PDF files.
- This feature is currently available on the Elite and Ultimate plans only. Contact your account manager or Egnyte Sales team to get this feature.

Default Editing Application on the Shared Link Preview Page
