New Features And Enhancements
Migration Assistance - Job Recommendation Tool
Egnyte now offers Migration Assistance - Job Recommendations Tool to all customers. The tool automatically breaks down large data sets into smaller, optimized migration jobs reducing the manual effort in the process.
The feature was previously made available to a limited number of customers and is now being made generally available.
The migration job recommendations tool offers numerous benefits to the users such as:
- Automatic job splitting to avoid manual errors and delays
- Optimal performance by evenly distributing workload across jobs for faster, more stable migrations
- Reduced risk of system overloads, even with large and complex data sets
- The ability to select only a subset of the auto-generated migration jobs allows end users to choose the specific jobs they wish to create, rather than accepting all the jobs suggested by the recommendation tool. Additionally, users can return to the migration jobs creation view to select any remaining jobs based on their preferences
Change Permissions on the Fly
Migration App now allows the permissions to be mapped from source to destination for the ongoing migrations. Admins can map the user and group permissions in a one-on-one manner.
Master Token for Command Initiator
Migration app now creates job-specific tokens. Earlier, migrations relied on the token generated for the agent’s creator, which blocked migrations when that token expired.
With this update, the Updated By field for files will display the command initiator's name, instead of the user who created the agent.
