Egnyte integration brings Egnyte content directly into Outlook installed on desktop (Windows and Mac) or Outlook on the web. With this integration, Egnyte users will be able to share links to files or folders with others securely and will be able to store emails, as well as email attachments directly into Egnyte. Since users are sending shared links in their email messages – not actual files – they preserve any security restrictions and keep Egnyte as a source of truth.
This integration is located under Apps & Integrations as Egnyte for M365.
Prerequisites
The following is needed for the setup:
- Microsoft Office 365 Global Admin Account to deploy integration Enterprise Integrated Apps
- An Egnyte account
- Users need to have an active Outlook client (Windows and Mac) installed or access to the web version
Supported Client (Outlook) Configurations by Microsoft
The Microsoft Outlook client must be one of the supported applications. For supported Outlook Clients, Please check Microsoft documentation here.
-The integration is currently not supported on mobile (iOS and Android) due to a Microsoft limitation.
-Due to another Microsoft limitation, the client must be connected to an Exchange server or Microsoft 365 using a direct connection. When configuring the client, the user must choose an Exchange, Office, or Outlook.com account type. If the client is configured to connect with POP3 or IMAP, add-ins will NOT load.
Supported Licenses by Microsoft
Currently supported Outlook licences versions are listed in Microsoft documentation
To check Microsoft plan, Admin can navigate to the Microsoft Admin center and can look at all the licences per user on the main screen.
Microsoft plans with available products are listed here.
Egnyte’s Product and Support Policy includes supporting the last three active versions of the client software.
