External Release Notes: WebUI (May 01, 2025)
New Features And Enhancements
Desktop Configurations
Egnyte is introducing a new capability - setting up Desktop App configuration in WebUI.
Desktop Configurations provide a centralized way to define how Desktop App Drives are deployed and managed across end-user devices.
Administrators can use this feature to configure drive mappings, offline folder synchronization, and connected local folders ensuring consistency and reducing reliance on manual setup by users.
Desktop Configurations will only take effect on following versions of the Desktop App:
- Desktop App Core 1.7.0 and above.
- Desktop App for Windows 3.25.0 and above.
These changes will be gradually enabled to customers in upcoming weeks.
Issues Addressed
All Power Users and Standard Users Group Showed up Empty
‘All Power Users and Standard Users’ group was showing up empty in the Web UI. It did not impact the folder permissions associated with the group. These ‘suggested groups’ have now been removed completely.
Devices Dashboard - Incorrect Error Message for Storage Sync Device
A low disk space alert was issued for the Storage Sync device claiming sync was stopped. While disk usage was high, the sync error was incorrect as syncing continued without issues.
